What is Digital Video?
A digital video format used by tape-based camcorders and editing systems.
Output is PAL DV at 720×576, 25 fps, with 48 kHz stereo PCM. These required dimensions override custom resize settings.
Technical details
DV files carry digital video essence; the underlying DV format uses intraframe-coded frames and may be wrapped with audio and timecode. [1]
Background and compatibility
DV originated in tape and camera workflows; MOD is used by some camcorders, and its extension alone may not identify the recording structure. [1]
