Imports the BIFF8 Excel 97 compatible ET variant supported by LibreOffice. Other WPS-specific or encrypted variants may not open.

Background and compatibility
WPS recommends opening an ET workbook in Spreadsheets and using Save As to create an .xlsx copy; renaming the extension does not convert it. [1]
