What is Flash Video?
A container formerly common in web video delivery. Converting old FLV recordings to MP4 can make them easier to play without Flash software.
Tested output uses FLV1 video and MP3 audio; conversion does not require or run Flash.
Technical details
FLV stores a sequence of tagged audio, video, and script-data records after a file header. [1]
Background and compatibility
Flash Video belongs to the Adobe Flash authoring/runtime ecosystem; modern playback may require extraction or remuxing into a current container. [1]
