What is LHA archive?
An archive format using LZH compression, historically common on Amiga and Japanese computing platforms.
Extraction keeps regular files. Links, special filesystem entries, directory permissions and installation behavior are not retained. Limit: 128 MB input, 256 MB expanded data, and 1,000 entries.
Technical details
LHA member headers identify a method, packed size, filename, and header level; level 2 headers support longer paths. [1]
Background and compatibility
The LHa for Unix documentation lists separate method identifiers such as stored data and LZSS/Huffman compression, so reader support depends on the method used. [1]
