What is Magick Image File Format?
ImageMagick's native raster interchange format, used to store image pixels and associated properties.
Exports contain a flattened raster image. Editing uses 8-bit browser display precision; original layers, metadata, HDR range, and scientific sample values are not retained.
Technical details
MIFF is ImageMagick's native image format and can persist image attributes and pixel data, including higher-precision sample types. [1]
Background and compatibility
ImageMagick positions MIFF as an application-native intermediate format rather than a broadly portable exchange standard. [1]
