What is MOD camcorder video?
A program-stream video format used by several tapeless camcorder families.
Output uses MPEG-2 video and MP2 audio; it does not create a complete camera directory.
Technical details
The JVC GZ-MC500 records MOD video with MPEG-2 picture data and Dolby Digital audio. [1]
Background and compatibility
On this camcorder, ULTRA mode records up to 720 × 480 at 60i, so MOD identifies a camera recording workflow rather than a single universal codec. [1]
