What is Photo CD?
Kodak's raster format for digitized photographs, originally distributed on Photo CD discs.
The verified writer creates a 768×512 base image. Larger compressed Photo CD resolutions and complete authored discs are not supported.
Technical details
Photo CD stores image data in a structured multiresolution form; ImageMagick documents its writer limit as 768×512 because larger output needs unsupported Huffman coding. [1]
Background and compatibility
Photo CD was a Kodak image-delivery format; the ImageMagick size caveat shows that implementations may support only part of its resolution ladder. [1]
