What is PICT (PCT)?
An alternate file extension for Macintosh PICT graphics, used by older desktop publishing applications.
Exports contain raster image data. Embedded drawing objects are not retained as editable vectors.
Technical details
PICT records QuickDraw drawing operations and image data in a sequence of picture opcodes rather than a simple fixed pixel array. [1]
Background and compatibility
ImageMagick identifies PICT as the Apple Macintosh QuickDraw picture format; .pct is an alternate extension for the same family. [1]
