What is Photoshop large document?
Photoshop's large-document variant of PSD. It uses extended length fields for large raster documents.
Local processing retains a flattened image and is limited to 40 megapixels; it does not implement PSB's full maximum document size.
Technical details
PSB is Photoshop's Large Document Format for very large images; Adobe documents support for dimensions above 30,000 pixels and files above 2 GB. [1]
Background and compatibility
Adobe notes PSB is not fully compatible with all applications and older Photoshop versions, so interchange can flatten or lose editing structure. [1]
