What is Wave64?
A RIFF-like audio container with 64-bit size fields, designed for recordings that exceed traditional WAV size limits.
This workspace still limits input sizes. Tested output uses 16-bit PCM; the Wikipedia reference discusses the related WAV family.
Technical details
Wave64 extends the RIFF/WAVE concept with 64-bit chunk and file-size fields, removing RIFF's 32-bit size ceiling. [1]
Background and compatibility
Wave64 supports long high-resolution recordings in audio workstations; it is related to WAV but not byte-compatible with RIFF chunks. [1]
